These terms apply to all bookings for training courses provided by Kings River Education. By submitting a booking, you (the delegate and/or the school or organisation making the booking) agree to these terms.
1. Bookings and confirmation
A place on a course is requested by completing and submitting the booking form. A booking is confirmed once Kings River Education has received the completed form and issued a confirmation by email.
Submitting a booking creates a binding agreement to pay the applicable course fee in full, in accordance with these terms.
2. Fees and what is included
The course fee is £100 per person, or £180 for two people from the same school or organisation booked together.
The fee includes attendance at the course, course materials, and a certificate of attendance on completion. For in-person courses, basic refreshments are included where stated but delegates should bring their own lunch and snacks.
3. Payment
Fees are payable by invoice. Where the school or organisation operates a purchase order system, a valid purchase order number must be supplied at the time of booking.
Invoices are payable within 14 days of the invoice date. Payment is normally made by BACS to the bank details shown on the invoice.
Non-payment or late payment does not cancel a booking or remove the liability to pay the full fee.
4. Cancellations and refunds
Because our course fees are offered at a significantly discounted rate, all bookings are non-refundable. Once a booking is confirmed, the full fee remains payable whether or not the delegate attends.
This includes non-attendance on the day (“no-shows”), for which no refund or credit is given.
5. Substitutions
If the named delegate is unable to attend, a substitute delegate from the same school or organisation may attend in their place at no additional charge.
Please notify us of the substitute delegate's name and email address before the course date so that materials and the certificate can be issued correctly.
6. Transferring to another date
If you need to move your booking to a later course date, a transfer may be arranged subject to availability.
A transfer charge equal to 50% of the original course fee is payable to move to another date, in addition to the original fee already agreed. The transfer charge must be paid before the new course date is confirmed.
A booking may be transferred once. Transfers are not a refund and the original fee remains non-refundable.
7. Cancellation or changes by Kings River Education
We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel a course, for example due to insufficient numbers or circumstances beyond our control such as tutor illness.
If we cancel a course and are unable to offer a suitable alternative date, we will provide a full refund of the fee paid for that course. Our liability in these circumstances is limited to the fee paid.
8. Attendance and joining instructions
Delegates are responsible for arriving in good time for in-person courses, and for logging in promptly for online courses. Joining instructions will be sent by email in advance.
For online courses delivered via Zoom, delegates are responsible for having a suitable device, camera and a stable internet connection. The joining link is for the registered delegate (or agreed substitute) only.
9. Course materials and intellectual property
All course materials remain the intellectual property of Kings River Education and are provided for the delegate's own professional use. They may not be copied, distributed, or used to deliver training to others without our written permission.
10. Certificates
A certificate of attendance is issued on completion of the course. Full attendance is required for a certificate to be issued.
11. Data protection
We collect and use the personal information provided at booking only to administer the course, communicate with delegates, raise invoices and issue certificates. We do not share this information with third parties except where necessary to deliver the course or where required by law. Information is retained only as long as necessary and in line with data protection legislation (UK GDPR). Kings River Education Ltd is registered with the ICO.
12. Confidentiality
Safeguarding training may involve discussion of sensitive scenarios. Delegates agree to keep any case examples or personal information shared during a course confidential, and to ensure that any examples they contribute are appropriately anonymised.
13. Liability
Training is delivered in good faith and reflects safeguarding guidance and legislation current at the time of delivery (including Keeping Children Safe in Education). It is provided to support, and does not replace, the school or organisation's own safeguarding responsibilities, policies and decisions.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with a course is limited to the fee paid for that course. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Complaints
If you have any concerns about a course, please raise them with Adam Lubbock directly and we will do our best to resolve them promptly.
15. Events beyond our control
Neither party is liable for failure to perform its obligations where this is caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
